WANNABEE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN INFO
Handicap Explained
We want to apply a correction factor for gender and age and therefore level all the results to equality.
Every rider plus his bicycle and equipment will be weighed. This will give us their total riding mass. Based on that weight and their time up the hill we will be able to calculate the total POWER output based on following formula:
Overall Watts Formula
Wrider = Cfriction x V x P + Cair x (V + Vwind)^2 x V+ Cslope x P x Slope% x V + acceleration
Once we know your total POWER (WATTS) output we will apply a correction factor for your gender and your age.
For a male youngster below 19y the correction factor is 19-his age/8
Exp: if he's 16y then we will add 0.375 x his output watts to his corrected total
For a female youngster below 19y the correction factor is 19-her age/5
Exp: if she's 16y then we will add 0.6 x her output watts to her corrected total
For a male above 30y the correction factor is his age-30/100
Exp: if he's 45y then we will add 0.15 x his output watts to his corrected total
For a female above 30y the correction factor is her age-30/25
Exp: if she's 45y then we will add 0.6 x her output watts to her corrected total
THANKS TO THIS CORRECTION FACTOR EVERYONE IS ABLE TO WIN THE WANNABEE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN CLIMB!
