Hello to all the Wannabees

Had our meeting last night. Sure is great to work with such dedicated committee members.

Main items of importance are that we will have bimonthly mountain bike rides during the winter. We are planning one formal ride for the more technical able riders and one ride for the riders who prefer the rolling hills type rides. In that way we can hopefully accommodate most of the riders. Thanks to Ralph Rudd and Clayton Hindle for sorting this out.

Our BUZZ will persist but will probably become part of the new WEBSITE. Between Michel de Clippel and Deon van Zijl they will setup a website which should be set up by the end of June

Club membership now at 150 members with over a 1000 hits per month on the BLOG

We will be ordering 30 winter tops as per photo on the BLOG. Make sure you get one of the first. They will be available from Pieter Schoeman or from Helderberg Cycle world

The BASIN MOUNTAINBIKE CLUB has made a good offer to interested Wannabee members. You can join their club for R500 per year and ride as many times as you want in Lourensford during their weekend rides, or you can as a Wannabee member pay a discounted price of R20 per ride ( R40 for non-members) without joining their club. This is of course subject to the normal procedure of pre booking at Cycle Addiction and the availability of space. Please contact Malan for the details. The main event for May will be the HILLCLIMB on the 1st of May. Details on the BLOG.
As you will see, due to the handicapping system any and everyone will have a chance to win. Even the chairman due to his age and extra weight. So do not miss this event. Non club members can for R20 also participate. Prizes and trophies for diferent categories will be handed out.
