Hello to all the Wannabees

I am happy to report that our membership count has broken the 150 number.

This is great as more and more members are making use of the training sessions and out rides. (which sometimes includes a coffee and muffin)

Well done to Tim Butler who despite a flat tyre, managed a fourth place at the ENGEN CHALLENGE in PE

Keep the good news coming, even if it is just a PB

Well done also to all the Somerset Westers who finished the Ironman two weeks ago. Really a special achievement (and a dream for others)

We are rescheduling our mountain bike ride that was washed out last Sunday. Note that the meeting time will be 07h00 at W/Stone village.
The weather report for this coming Sunday also does not look great, but the ride is on. Remember that Ralph and Clayton do not feel cold and wet, so they were the only riders who pitched for the ride last Sunday in the storm!

Our website is in progress and will soon be on the web.

We are also looking at a twitter communication system. Face book is already available.

Please make use of it.

Only one prize winner from the KING of the MOUNTAIN ride pitched for his prize Sunday, so we aim to hand out the rest of the prizes before we start Sunday’s ride, i.e. at 07h00.

Here are the prize winner’s names again

DOUBLE CENTUARY.

John has sent out a notice to all members re the DC. Except for his team, other riders were slow to react.

We need to establish and get commitment at an early stage as to set up teams and start training in team context.

We have set the 15th of June as a cut off date for team commitment and payment of R150.

Last year we had riders pulling out a week before the race leaving others who trained hard with unfit fill in riders. We want to prevent this from happening again.

Please respond to John, we would like to field at least 4 teams.

SHIRTS

Pieter has printed new tops. Please contact him or Petie if you need one.
