Hi Wannabee members
This past weekend saw many members out on the road with some DC teams starting to get some distance under the belt. Sunday’s weather was perfect and warmed up enough for most to discard the warm jackets and let the Wannabee tops show again!
Attention all DC Captains, registration opens today at about lunchtime on the Coronation website. The teams need to be registered but members will only be entered about 10 days before DC.
Just to let you know that if you intend stopping at the Caltex garage near the Bottelary traffic lights, you will need R2 coins to use the bathroomsm make sure you put the money in the right slot otherwise you could end up using the wrong bathroom. (I talk from experience….) Well worth the money because the facilities are reasonable clean.
Remember the entries are open for the 1 Tonner on 18th October, early entries are open until 12 October costs are R140 with a R20 discount if you are a current PPA member, it will be great training for DC. It appears the route has been changed slightly due to the roadworks on Helshoogte, I am still waiting for confirmation and will let you know once confirmed. Watch this space…..
This weekend sees 2 Mtb events, on Saturday at De Hoop Nature Reserve and on Sunday at De Grendal Wine Estate – details on PPA website.
The provisional Spring calendar is available on the PPA website but it has not been confirmed yet. Some great rides coming up.
Starting times at Waterstone is still at 07h00, it is still a bit dark so make sure you have lights that work.
Have a great week!
Kind regards
Wendy
