Hi Wannabee members

Remember this Sunday, 9th August is our club race and Club Members ride for FREE! Please wear your Wannabee tops if possible. At this stage the weather is looking good so bring the family.

What a great weekends riding we had, the weather was fantastic and the sunrise on Sunday was truly spectacular! We found out that an old tube, with a bit of sludge in, does NOT inflate after it has been rolled up and stored for about a year. Please check your tyres and tubes and make sure the pressure is correct before each ride.

Entries are open for the 1 Tonner (see link below) early entries are open until 12 October costs are R140 with a R20 discount if you are a current PPA member, it will be great training for DC.

THE ROUTE

From the start at the Klein Joostenberg Farmstall, participants will cycle to Stellenbosch, and then over Helshoogte towards Franschhoek and Paarl before joining the R44 direction Wellington near the Fairview Estate. Cyclists will then turn onto the second Voorpaardeberg Road, right onto the Paardeberg Road and left onto the R302 (Malmesbury/Durbanville road) and back past the "fruit sellers" fourway to the venue. A cut-off will be enacted as cyclists pass Klein Joostenberg Farmstall before starting the last 25km loop, which will take you down to the Bottelary/Kromme Rhee Road, left towards the R44 and left again at the Klapmuts fourway stop to the finish on the R101 outside Klein Joostenberg.

There are still places available for the training and nutritional workshops starting tomorrow night 5/8/09, details on the blog.

Starting times at Waterstone is at 07h00, it is still dark so make sure you have lights, front and back, for the next couple of weeks.

Have a great week!

Kind regards

Wendy
