Ian Craig (wannabee member) is pleased to present a series of educational talks that will combine information on both training and nutrition and how best to balance the two for optimal performance.

Dear Wannebees,

Michael van Staden and myself have now presented most of this educational series at Cycle Lab in Milnerton. Its gone extremely well, so we’re now talking about doing it in other areas (for those who can’t make it into the city).

The next step I think will be the Helderberg and we would like to tell as many cyclists about it as possible to drum up a crowd of at least 10-20 on each evening. Michael (himself an elite rider) is very knowledgeable and experienced on the construction of training programmes (including power, heart rate and RPE–guided intensity) and I have built up a very real and practical way of presenting sports nutrition. It will be an excellent education opportunity for cyclists on this side of town.

Please let me know what you think. It would be good to get this going soon after the school holidays.

Best Wishes, Ian

Michael van Staden is a qualified level 3 power coach accredited by Training Peaksand is currently busy with level 2 and hopes to have completed that by the end of May 2009.
