Dear Members,

Thanks for your response to our recent Double Century (DC) letter.

Following your replies we have allocated everyone to a team either based on an “Argus” time over the last 2 years or to the team that they cycled with last year.

As you can appreciate these are provisional teams only at this stage and once everyone has had a few training rides you are welcome to request that you move up or down based on your own fitness levels and whether there are openings in these teams.

As you will notice from the provisional team lists the greatest number of replies fell into the Wannabee Faster Social Teams where the anticipated finishing time will range from 7h30-8h00.

If you care to check the team numbers you will see that the Faster Social Team #2, the Mixed Fast Team as well as Wendy’s Social team are still short of riders. Each team should ideally have 13-14 riders at this early stage as it is inevitable that people drop out due to various reasons. I am certain that there are club members who would like to ride the DC but have inadvertently omitted to reply. Now is your chance to enter on a first cum first served bases. If you have never cycled the DC now is your chance. There is great camaraderie within the teams and on finishing a great sense of achievement.

Each team captain will schedule there own training programme. However attached please find a provisional training programme that will be used by my team. Should anyone in any team wish to join our training schedule please feel free. You will be expected to train at our intended pace.

I look forward to receiving your e-mail together with your team of choice and an Argus time from this or last year and I will endeavour to allocate you to a team.

Kind regards

John
