Morning,

Slowly moving out of winters grip. Not many out yesterday morning other than several DC teams doing their thing. Sat saw the social side to a credible 135ks. A beautiful ride up Sir Lowry’s, Bot River, Kleimond and back into S/West. A bit blustery going up Sir Lowry’s, but excellent training. Well done.

Well, as mentioned in my last post, the Polar program will start this Tuesday 16/10 at 5.30am from Waterstone. Should only last about 1hr. Please have your lights fitted, its still going to be darkish to begin with.

Weekend rides as from this coming w/end will start at 6.00am and not 6.30am anymore.

Up until now most of training has been a gradual kilos build-up, the result is that if nothing else u should all have pretty good endurance legs. Doing the occasional MTB race and the PPA funrides will sharpen u up even more. The Polar program will take u a step further. The week day morning rides will concentrate on sharpening up your ability to go that extra mile if necessary by making u able to work primarily just below and just above your LACTATE ZONE.

We will, as most of u know, be training in pretty safe conditions but please be careful of the lost dog or tarrie (african chicken) that wants to see what’s happening on the other side of the road.

OK, week 1/6.

Tues 16/10 5.30am Waterstone YZ 8 x West Rd 2/3min Intervals.
Wed 17/10 “ Rest/Recovery ride 1 hr small blade LSD
Thurs 18/10 “ “ BZ Waterworks 4 x 7min intervals
Sat 20/10 6.00am “ 3 hrs LSD/Fun ride
Sun 21/10 “ “ “

Several local lads took part in events on Sat and fared pretty well. Congrats - the results are out so check.

Young BJ vd Walt took part in a track race at the Velodrome and walked away with the honours. Well done BJ. Now for the WP road championships.

Well, die manne is deur. Fantastic to say the least.

Goedgaan,

Ek.
